
Quale ruolo l’attivismo sociale può avere nelle dinamiche di trasformazione delle strutture economiche, politiche e sociali dei vari paesi? Come è possibile fare attivismo attraverso le nuove tecnologie, tra cui Internet e favorire i cambiamenti desiderati? La conferenza cercherà di rispondere a queste e altre domande attraverso dibattiti suddivisi in otto panel di discussione.
Tra i partecipanti confermati anche Gianpietro Mazzoleni – Professor of Sociology of Mass Communication and Political Communication at the University of Milan.

AN INTERESTING CONFERENCE RE:activism | Re-drawing the Boundaries of Activism in a New Media Environmentwill take place October 14–15, 2005, in Budapest, Hungary.
The conference, which is is co-organised by four prestigious international institutions, is structured around eight panels, each of them representing an approach from which the transformative potential of new media can be meaningfully addressed.
- Political economy of peer production networks;
- State intervention and regulatory issues in the information age;
- Digital culture jamming;
- Digitalised memory: new forms of archiving and journalism;
- Civic uses of new media technologies;
- New media and global civil society;
- New media and democratic elections;
- New media activism and the urban fabric;
The organizers offer free accommodation for the participants from the 13th to the 16th. Sadly, we cannot offer full funding for travel costs for everyone, though we have a very limited budget for those who cannot get additional funding from their home institution. If You feel eligible please download and fill this document and send it back to us by September 10, 2005. We are happy to provide You with the necessary letters of invitation if needed.
